Pregnancy Calculator Information

How Pregnancy is Calculated

Pregnancy is typically calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), even though conception usually occurs about 2 weeks later. A full-term pregnancy lasts about 280 days or 40 weeks from the LMP.

Due Date Accuracy

Only about 5% of babies are born exactly on their due date. Most babies are born within 2 weeks before or after the estimated due date. Your healthcare provider may adjust the due date based on ultrasound measurements.

When to See a Doctor

Schedule your first prenatal appointment as soon as you know you're pregnant, ideally by 8 weeks. Regular prenatal care is important for monitoring both you and your baby's health.
